In this episode, the coach had a chance to sit down with two veteran officials and leaders of the NCOA (Northern California Officials Alliance) Victor Horton and Sport Barclay.  Both men come to the show with 15+ years of officiating experience at all levels of basketball and they are overall great people to be around.  Coach Collins tries to bring information for parents, athletes and coaches to really understand the game and see things from the vantage point of the people reffing the games. To many times it's easy to vilify the men and women working in the stripes but this episode we really unpack the confusion and questions that need to be answered.

Been all over the world, Ms. Bolton has also been an active participant in the Sport DiplomacySports Envoy program for the S. Department of State. In this function, she has traveled to Armenia, Australia, China, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Papua New Guinea, and Saudi Arabia to conduct basketball clinics for approximately 1300 youth and women worldwide

Coach C. Collins and Coach MJ are ready to talk more AAU basketball, life and everything in between. In this episode, the coaches had a chance to sit down with Sac State Alumni and home town hooper Zach Chappell. Zach has just graduated from Sacramento State College and is currently gearing up to play in the famous "Drew League" and NBA summer pre-draft. Coach MJ has also worked with Zach as a trainer along side Guss Armstead, famous NBA trainer, in the sac area. Zach is a product of the new transfer portal and his results gave him the best outcome for his senior season of college basketball.  This episode we will get the perspective of the collegiate student-athlete using the transfer portal and how it can benefit many college athletes out there.

In this episode, we have guest Matt Johnson the head Varsity coach of Sacramento High School and former Division 1 player.  Matt has revitalized Sac High basketball and in his first year as varsity coach has shut down any doubts of his ability to coach. Coach Johnson was not only a student-athlete at Sac high, winning multiple section titles but as his first year as head coach he won a section title which is a rare thing to happen in high school sports.  Coach Johnson opens up about his personal life and growth from young athlete to family man and father. His approach to the game and viewpoints on the success of his team are very profound and this is a great episode to tune in.

”Bout that Life” AAU Basketball and Life talk Episode 44

Coach C. Collins is ready to talk more AAU basketball, life and everything in between. In this episode, the coach had a chance to sit down with Rahid "Shine" and Andrej Stojakovic(Son of former NBA player Peja Stojakovic). In this episode we got to really breakdown the journey to become a high level basketball player but also the relationship between player and trainer.  With guys like Phil Handy and Lebron James showcasing the importance of a lead trainer and player relationship, the trust that is needed for this to work is key for the athlete to reach there full potential.
Andrej has had a breakout career the past two seasons at Jesuit High School becoming a McDonalds All-American, leading Jesuit as a captain and scoring also playing for the famous Compton Magic AAU program on the adidas 3ssb circuit.  Shine has been with him every step of the way and with Andrej committing to Stanford university along with Jesuit Alumni Isa Silva, both trained by Shine, this creates a culture and legacy the show wants to talk more about.

In this episode, the coach had a chance to sit down with Fred Blue the founder/director and coach of "The Chico Avengers".  Fred has been working with the youth and his son for the past decade and as established himself as a staple in his community when it comes to the basketball world.  His passion for the kids come from wanting to see all kids succeed and he definitely puts his money where his mouth is as he has spent upwards of 25K a year to allow the kids in his program to play AAU basketball.
Also on the show is guest host Coach "OJ" who has been a guest on the show and the director of courtside basketball. He gives his input and insight on the different aspects of aau basketball and how its evolving.
