Coaches Rize Time: Predatory behavior against male athletes

Coach C. Collins is back at it to help give his experience of coaching methods and tactics that can hopefully help you to grow in the game of basketball along with tips for your AAU brand.  Todays topic is maybe controversial but its something athletes form high school to eventually the pros have to deal with, that being, women showing predatory behavior towards taking advantage of these men for some sort of status, financial or lifestyle gains.
There is a common theme in our western society today that men of status are allowed to be preyed upon and they just need to protect themselves. Well what, if any, should the consequences be for women caught in the act. This topic is discussed along with the story of Brian Banks a high level high school athlete who was falsely accused of rape and lost 10 years of his life. This will be a topic many might not like my opinion on but these things need to be discussed.

Coaches Rize Time: Violence against officials

In this episode Coach Collins talks to Steav Jordan (Steavy) a former college hooper, barbershop owner, clothing designer and creator of "Dreme" hair care products.  Steav is someone coach Collins has known a long time from there former hoop days and he has had quite the journey as you will learn in the episode. Steav is currently an assistant coach at Sacramento City Junior College so his information on what it takes to become a college athlete is very valuable to the kids out there looking to make it after high school.  Junior College seems to be the best platform for the class of 2022 because of the effects of the pandemic and it is discussed in detail, along with some juicy hot topics.

Coaches Rize Time: AAU Shoe Circuit Experience (UA Rise Session 1)

Coach C. Collins is back at it to help give his experience of coaching methods and tactics that can hopefully help you to grow in the game of basketball along with tips for your AAU brand.  Todays topic I want to tell coaches, families and players what my experience was at the UA Rise tournament in Indiana.  Most AAU basketball teams want to eventually make it to one of the shoe circuits that play some of the best high school talent in the nation and I want to give a step by step experience on what will happen if you make it.

”Bout that Life” AAU Basketball and Life talk Episode 37

Coach C. Collins is ready to talk more AAU basketball, life and everything in between. In this episode,   Coach Collins got to sit down with an old high school buddy Nick Lozito.  Nick is a sports editor for the San Francisco chronicle news paper and is a Oakland native born and raised. Coach Collins and Nick go way back and in the show you can hear from someone who has worked in the sports game for a long time. Nick has a passion for sports that began in High School as he was there to see the rise of Oakland Tech as a basketball power house during the Leon Powe & Demarshae Johnson era(199-2003).  Nick also worked at the Oakland Tribune in the same field and he has done several pieces on the sports world that give him great insight to the professional experience.

Some topics of interest in this episode were the assessments of how the era of basketball has changed also Nick reached out to Coach Collins for insight about how AAU basketball works and the pros and cons. Nick also discusses a recent article he had done on the decline of black participation in baseball and the reasons why. Often through out the show the comparison of aau programs in traditionally white sports as opposed to aau basketball, which is predominately black, is brought up as well. Of course we talk NBA news and the way covid-19 has affected the layout of the NBA season.  With everything being uncertain it seems athletes and organizations either adapt or fail.
