Coaches Rize Time: Post Defense
Tuesday May 18, 2021
Tuesday May 18, 2021
Coach C. Collins is back at it to help give his experience of coaching methods and tactics that can hopefully help you to grow in the game of basketball. After Coach Collins had his team play in the Oakland Soldiers E.Y.B.L invite tournament May 14-16, 2021 he noticed that the post defense is not as regulated like the rest of the game.
For todays topic Coach Collins along with Guest Coach Tet(NCAA Official and William Jessup Coach) are going to analysis and try to make sense of how to protect the players in the post and teach the coaches how to communicate to the officials. It should add some clarity or at least spark the conversation on how the game still needs to protect the guys that have there back to the basket.

Coaches Rize Time: Rankings
Sunday May 16, 2021
Sunday May 16, 2021
Coach C. Collins is back at it to help give his experience of coaching methods and tactics that can hopefully help you to grow in the game of basketball. Rankings is always an touchy subject for coaches because it can either motivate your team or be the catalyst to there down fall. In todays AAU how can ranking kids and teams matter when most are not loyal to any one program and the organizations have natural bias for "there kids".
I will give my thoughts on the matter and let you know what I think of the system and how they can be used to work for your team.

Coach C. Collins and Coach MJ are ready to talk more AAU basketball, life and everything in between. In this episode, the coaches have the opportunity to sit down with the founder/director of the Matt Barnes Elite AAU program, Danielle Barnes. If you didn't figure out the connection from her last name she is the sister of Ex NBA player Matt Barnes. Her perspective is truly unique because she not only has family ties to Sacramento, the Bay Area and Northern California but she has seen the process amongst her family of the beginning to the end of chasing that pro athlete dream. With 4 boys of her own she has a very interesting vantage point and her story needs to be told.
Also the group talks about the Police in America Seem to be losing there minds with the recent death of Dante Wright, the terrible treatment of LT. Nazario, in Chicago a 13 year old killed Adam Toldedo and the Sergeant from fort Jackson Johnathan Pentland harassing a black man walking on the sidewalk all while the George Floyd Trail is presently going on. This past month has been difficult for society and the coaches want to put there 2 cents in about the current status.
The NBA has its story lines, Kevin Durant going toe to toe with the media, referees not doing the job accurately, players taking to much time off and just watching the season unfold.
AAU and High school basketball are actively being played at the same time and now kids are having to choose which one to do is discussed and much more with a hot take fresh off the oven.
Guest: Danielle Barnes
